Miscreants Assault Journalist In Bhubaneswar, Damage Bike

Bhubaneswar: A journalist was assaulted by some miscreants in Mancheswar area in the city on Wednesday evening.

According to a complaint lodged by the injured journalist Suraj Kumar Mallick, he was on the way to his office on his bike along the Canal Road area when he was intercepted by three youths who came on a bike and asked him to pay money to them for hitting their bike even though there was no accident.

As Mallick refused to pay them the money, the three youths assaulted him. However, he ran away after they tried to crush him with a stone. The trio later completely damaged his vehicle and fled the area.

Meanwhile, the police in course of investigation have found the involvement of Bapuni Chhotray, an anti-social of Saheed Nagar area.

“Police are conducting raids in different places to nab Bapuni and his two associates and they will be arrested very soon,” said the sub-inspector of Mancheswar Police Station Stalin Biswal.
