Dhenkanal: Four miscreants looted more than Rs 2 lakh from a medicine salesman at gun-point in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Tuesday.
As per reports, the salesman, Prakash Behera, had gone for collection of payment from medical stores in Pandua, Saanda, Parjang, Samal and NTPC staff colony on the day. While he was returning with cash after making delivery of medcines at a shop near community health centre at Muktapasi under Kamakshyanagar police station, two miscreants came on a motorcycle and intercepted him.
As the miscreants tried to snatch the money bag, Behera resisted them. The two persons snapped out a gun and threatened him of taking his life.
After Behera gave them the money bag in fear of his life, they along with two others, who were waiting on another bike, fled on National Highway towards Barihapur.
On being informed, a team from Kamakshyanagar police station went to the spot and started investigation. The locals said they did not suspect any crime as there was any tussle or exchange of angry words between the miscreants and the medicine salesman.
