Balangir: A girl student of DAV college at Titilagarh in Odisha’s Balangir district was hospitalised after three motorcycle-borne miscreants allegedly slit her throat with a razor after intercepting her at a secluded place on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Priyambada Majhi, a resident of Junagarh area in Kalahandi.
According to sources, the incident took place when she was on her way to the college from a rented accommodation at Bahidarpada in Titilagarh around 11 am. They also snatched away Rs 500 which she was carrying. Locals spotted the girl and informed DAV College Principal Pranab Purohit, who then rushed her to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.
