Bhubaneswar: In a disturbing incident, a group of miscreants allegedly vandalised a restaurant in VSS Nagar area of Bhubaneswar after being denied free food.
The miscreants, stated to have been under the influence of alcohol, forcibly entered the hotel premises, damaged property, and assaulted staff members.
According to the hotel owner, the miscreants were consuming liquor outside the hotel despite being told to refrain from drinking there. When they were refused complimentary snacks, the situation turned ugly.
The miscreants stormed into the hotel and mounted an attack, ransacking furniture, damaging the tandoor oven, and creating chaos.
The hotel staff immediately alerted the police and lodged a complaint at Sahid Nagar Police Station. Acting on the complaint, police have launched an investigation and are conducting door-to-door searches to identify and apprehend the culprits. CCTV footage from the hotel has captured the entire incident, which is now being used as key evidence.
The incident is being seen by many as a direct challenge to the Commissionerate Police. Authorities have assured strict action against those involved and have intensified efforts to maintain public safety in the area.
