Mumbai: Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh on Thursday morning resurfaced months after going “missing”. He appeared before the crime branch of Mumbai Police, which is probing an extortion case against him.
The IPS officer, who was earlier declared a proclaimed offender by a Mumbai court, had been missing since October.
“I will join the investigation as directed by the court,” Singh told reporters soon after he arrived in Mumbai.
He reappeared two days after the Supreme Court granted Singh protection from arrest, while ordering him to cooperate in the investigation.
On Wednesday, various news channels reported that Singh had told them that he was in Chandigarh city, where he has a family home, and would soon return to Mumbai.
