Kandhamal: A minor girl of Kandhamal, who had been missing since January 8, was rescued by Tumudibandha police from Gundurupi village in Kalahandi on Monday.
According to sources, the minor girl of Malipara area under Tumudibandha police limits in Kandhamal had gone to meet her sister admitted to Dumudibandha community health centre. She then went to Ambedkar Square to buy sweets but did not return.
After failing to trace her, her family members lodged a missing complaint. A police team led by inspector-in-charge Baba Sankar Saraf rescued the girl from Gundurupi village in Kalahandi and handed her over to the Childline. The family members were also informed.
