Mumbai: A commoner from Navi Mumbai had to block nearly 150 callers after he started receiving hate calls, which were meant for actress Rhea Chakraborty.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, 32-year old Sagar Surve’s phone number was mistaken for Rhea Chakraborty’s and people started calling him and hurling abuses at him. Sagar’s number differs from Rhea’s by just one digit, said the report.
Surve, who is a clerical staffer of an educational institute, has been receiving abusive calls for a week now. He has been receiving messages, voice calls and video calls on WhatsApp and people are asking him to send them his photograph to prove that he is not Rhea.
After Sagar’s cousin alerted him that his number was being flashed on a news channel and it differs from Rhea’s number by just one digit, the former got in touch with the police.
As he didn’t want to lodge any complaint, police suggested him to change his number.
Rhea Chakraborty is an accused in Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. Sushant’s father KK Singh has filed a complaint against the actress for abatement to suicide. He has also alleged in his complaint that Rhea befriended Sushant only for grabbing his money and property.
