Roorkee: Mitron, an indie version of TikTok, developed by a student of IIT Roorkee has recorded 5 million downloads within a month of its launch on Google Playstore.

The ongoing YouTube vs TikTok feud might have proved to be an advantage for this app. Today, it is trending on Twitter with users asking people to boycott TikTok and use this swadeshi app.

The swadeshi short video-sharing application has reportedly gained the second spot on the Google Play Store.

The name of the application which means “friends” in English is a common term used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address his countrymen in his speeches.
