Bhubaneswar: After being suspended for around two-and-a-half months, the Mo Bus service resumed in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
According to the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), 50 buses will ply on 16 routes for now and more routes will be covered gradually.
CRUT Operation Manager Chandan Mishra informed that all the buses will thoroughly sanitised both inside and outside for passenger safety.
Mishra said any pssenger without a mask will not be allowed to board a bus. Also, no passenger will be allowed to travel standing in the buses, he added.
On weekends, the Mo Bus service will be available only from the railway station to Cuttack and Khurda and shuttle service from the airport to the railway station.
On their part, many commuters have complained about the truncated services and requested the authorities to ply buses on more routes.
Expressing dissatifaction, Bhubaneswar resident Adyasha Mohanty tweeted, “What about route no. 13 buses as most people travelling from Lingipur to KIIT will face a lot of issue. So kindly consider our problem and try to include No. 13 buses as well. It will be a great help for us.”
Echoing the concern, Jyoti, a student, tweeted, “Where is route no.29?? Many people travel from Kalinga Vihar to Sai Mandir, including me for coaching classes.. We will face a lot of trouble otherwise. Please consider our problem.”
Other commuters have sought more routes such as buses from Biju Patnaik Park to Master Canteen.
