Bhubaneswar: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to undertake a two-day visit to Odisha from Saturday and interact with the organisation’s volunteers, an RSS functionary said.
Bhagwat is likely to reach the western Odisha town of Sambalpur around 4 pm on Saturday.
“He will attend a Swayamsevak congregation at the auditorium of GM University between 6 pm and 8 pm on Saturday. The next day, Bhagwat will review the organisational activities in the eastern and western regions of the state,” said Sumant Kumar Panda, the publicity head of RSS (East).
Bhagwat will wind up his tour on the evening of 11 October, Panda added.
The RSS chief had earlier visited the state on a five-day tour in May last year.
The visit, seen as significant in the organisational calendar of the Sangh, was primarily focused on internal meetings and training sessions aimed at strengthening the outfit’s grassroots network in the state.
