Monsoon Likely To Hit Odisha In 2-3 Days, Heatwave To Abate: IMD
Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon is likely to hit Odisha within the next 2 to 3 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.
“Conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon over some more parts of south Peninsular India, some parts of Odisha, some more parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh during next 2-3 days,” the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said.
It said the southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal; some parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand; some more parts of Bihar and remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim today.
The MeT Centre further predicted that heatwave conditions over east India and adjoining areas are likely to abate gradually from tomorrow onwards.
The maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to fall gradually by 4 to 6 degree Celsius during the next 3 days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha. Maximum temperature is very likely to be above normal by 4-6 degree Celsius in some districts of interior Odisha during the next 2 days.
