Bhubaneswar: The monsoon session of Odisha Assembly will be held from September 29 to October 7 by adhering to the COVID-19 management guidelines.
The Assembly will also meet on Sunday during this period.
Informing this, Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro said only October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti) will be a holiday.
Since elderly people are prone to COVID-19, senior MLAs can join the proceedings through video conferencing from their respective district headquarters, he added.
The Speaker had earlier informed that the all MLAs and staff will undergo COVID-19 test two days before the commencement of the monsoon session. “Only those who test negative for the virus will be allowed to participate in the proceedings,” he had said.
Meanwhile, the Monsoon Session of Parliament has begun with MPs registering their attendance using ‘Attendance Register’ mobile application.
