Bhubaneswar: With the Election Commission on Tuesday announcing the date for the bypolls to Balasore Sadar and Tirtol Assembly constituencies in Odisha, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sushil Kumar Lohani said in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, more booths will be set up in these two constituencies.
“Considering the rise in the number of voters in Balasore Sadar (2,26,586) and Tirtol (2,38,056), there will be 346 booths in the Balasore Sadar and 373 booths in Tirtol constituency to limit the number of voters to 1000 in each booth,” Lohani said.
Apart from this, the voters of more than 80 years and the persons with disabilities will be allowed to exercise their franchise through the postal ballots, he added.
