Bhubaneswar: To tackle the rising daily caseload, Nilachal and Hi-Tech COVID hospitals in the Odisha capital has been made operational from Monday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) sources, Blue Wheel Covid Hospital will start functioning from Tuesday.
Sparsh and KIMS COVID hospitals will become operational soon, the sources added.
On April 14, the Odisha government has allowed SUM dedicated COVID hospital (DCH) to run in full strength. Aditya Ashwini DCH was also made operational for the treatment of those infected by the virus.

Meanwhile, expert teams have been constituted, both at the state level and medical college level, to monitor the treatment facilities, including beds, HDU and ICU capacity in government as well as private hospitals.

Bhubaneswar had 2527 active cases till Sunday. With Odisha seeing the biggest jump of 4445 cases in the last 24 hours, the number is expected to increase further. Khurda has reported 587 new cases.
