Kalahandi: Driver and passengers of a car escaped narrowly after the car, they were going in, caught fire near Pragati College at Bhawanipatna in Odisha’s Kalahandi district late on Thursday.
Sources said, the incident occurred when the vehicle was crossing NH-26. The driver noticed smoke.
The driver noticed smoke emanating from the engine and rushed out of the vehicles while alerting the passengers. In no time, the car got engulfed in flames and reduced to ashes.
Short-circuit is being suspected to be the reason. On being informed, fire brigade reached the spot and doused the flames.
