MP’s Plea To Union Minister On BSNL’s 4G Services In Odisha’s Two Districts
Bhubaneswar: Rajya Sabha member of the state Sujeet Kumar has sought the intervention of Union Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in the decision of the BSNL Odisha Telecom Circle to stop 4G services in rural areas of Kalahandi and Nuapada districts.
In a letter to the Union Minister, the MP said the BSNL the discontinuation of 4G services in the two western Odisha districts will seriously affect the communication facilities and development works in 18 areas connected by NH-26 and state highways.
He further said the areas have been facing poor connectivity of cellular networks for several years due to poor implementation and improper maintenance. Instead of improving the services, total discontinuation is a matter of regret and concern, he added.
Stating that the BSNL’s decision has sparked resentment among the people of the two districts, Kumar requested Prasad to advise CGM, BSNL Odisha Telecom Circle to roll back its decision on closure of 4G services.
