Bengaluru: The Lokayukta had cleared Siddaramaiah, his wife and others in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment case.
But the Karnataka chief minister’s woes may not be over yet.
Hearing a petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) challenging the ‘B Report’ submitted by Karnataka Lokayukta police in the MUDA case, a special court for people’s representatives here deferred its decision on Tuesday.
On the objections of the ED and complainant Snehamaayi Krishna, who have called for a more thorough investigation, judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat said that a final decision on the B Report would be made only after Lokayukta police completes its investigation and files a comprehensive report.
The court adjourned proceedings and fixed May 7 as the date for next hearing. The court also granted Lokayukta police permission to continue its investigation, following a request from the ED.
The Mysuru division of Lokayukta police had submitted an initial report after conducting an inquiry into allegations against the Karnataka CM and three others. The court observed that the probe should not be limited to these four individuals and directed police to examine all those potentially involved and submit a full report.
Siddaramaiah has been accused of misusing his official position in the allotment of residential sites by MUDA.
Violations of standard norms and procedures have been alleged, potentially benefiting particular individuals, including members of Siddaramaiah’s family.
