Mumbai-Kolkata Vistara Flight Faces Turbulence Before Landing; 8 Injured

Mumbai: Eight passengers were injured after a Vistara flight from Mumbai to Kolkata was hit by severe turbulence.

Confirming the incident, which occurred around 4.30 pm on Monday, Vistara said, “Flight UK775 operating Mumbai-Kolkata on 7 June 2021 encountered severe turbulence 15 minutes before landing.”

While three people were injured critically and five others sustained minor injuries. There were 110 passengers on board, the Hindustan Times reported.

The injured were given first aid during the flight and were immediately taken to the hospital after the Boeing 787 aircraft landed, it further said.
The carrier said that the incident is being investigated on priority and it will soon issue an update.
