Mumbai: After a fresh post on social media threatening actor Salman Khan, the Mumbai Police undertook a thorough review of his security arrangements on Tuesday, according to reports.
This followed a purported shooting incident at Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal’s house in White Rock area of Vancouver, Canada. Lawrence Bishnoi, an infamous gangster, later claimed responsibility for orchestrating the gunfire in a Facebook post and warned Grewal about his association with Salman Khan.
“Your close ties with Salman Khan won’t protect you. It’s time for your ‘brother’ to step up and defend you. This message also extends to Salman Khan – don’t fool yourself into thinking Dawood Ibrahim can safeguard you from our reach. No one can save you. Your ostentatious response to Sidhu Moose Wala’s death didn’t go unnoticed. You were well aware of his character and his criminal connections,” he said in his chilling post.
Gippy Grewal, however, promptly distanced himself from Salman Khan in the aftermath of the attack on his residence.
The actor has already been given Y-plus security by the Mumbai Police after threats from the gangster which stem from the 1998 blackbuck case that transpired in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The gangster, a prime accused in Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, told the Delhi Police back in 2022 that his community would not forgive Salman Khan unless he tendered an apology for killing a blackbuck, which is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.
Amid the death threats, the Tiger 3 actor reportedly purchased a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV for security reasons earlier in April and was spotted in his new car at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Culture Centre event.
