Berhampur: A youth, accused in murder of a man in Odisha’s Ganjam district, has been arrested in Surat of Gujarat.
According to police sources, the youth, identified as Narayan Jena of Arakhpur village in Ganjam, along with an accomplice allegedly murdered the man in Purusottampur of the district on March 29.
After registering a case of murder, police started investigation and arrested the accomplice. But Jena managed to escape.
While the police were in search of Jena, the latter fled to Surat and started working in a spinning mill there. With inputs from Odisha Police, Surat Crime Branch also launched a search for him.
The Surat Crime Branch traced him in the spinning mill and obtained his residential address. Its personnel arrested him from Saroli in the city and informed Odisha Police.
