Berhampur: A 27-year-old block chairperson died under mysterious circumstances in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday.
According to sources, Sunita Sethy, the young chairperson of Digapahandi block in the district was at her home when she felt uneasy and suffocating.
Sunita’s family members rushed her to a local hospital. But the doctors declared her dead during the check-up.
Her family members said Sunita was not suffering from any kind of ailment nor had chronic disease. She was safe and sound and was doing all normal activities. While the family and people of the area are shocked over the incident, the doctors did not reveal the cause of death.
Sunita was elected as Digapahandi block chairperson on support from the ruling BJD in the state in the last local body election.
