Thiruvananthapuram: Mystery shrouds the death of a young Intelligence Bureau (IB) official in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram. The body of Megha Madhusoodhanan (25), was found on the railway tracks near Chacka, close to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, where she was posted, on Monday morning.
The police suspect that she was run over by the Jayanthi Janatha Express that was moving towards Thiruvananthapuram. However, it is yet to be ascertained what she was doing on the railway tracks. While the police are not ruling out suicide, no suicide note has been found at the place of occurrence.
On Tuesday, Megha’s father Madhusoodhanan claimed that his daughter was in a relationship with an IB officer during training. The officer is from Malappuram.
“We were against the relationship initially, but agreed to it later. Then we came to know that the officer from Malappuram broke off the relationship. We smell a rat here. Why would our daughter go to the railway tracks? She doesn’t have to go near them, on her way back home from the airport,” Madhusoodhanan told reporters.
Megha belonged to Athirumkal in Pathanamthitta, Kerala. Daughter of a retired ITI principal and a serving government employee, she graduated in forensic science before joining the IB. She was posted to the immigration wing of the Thiruvananthapuram airport and was staying nearby.
Her uncle Santhosh P S told reporters that the family had noticed any change in her behaviour in the last few days. She was a quiet and reserved person, he said.
