Berhampur: A team of the Crime Branch, which is probing the murder of Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, is again on a visit to Berhampur for further interrogation of the family members of accused Gopal Das.
The Crime Branch sleuths, who reached Berhampur on Tuesday night, visited the house of the dismissed police official located at Jaleswarkhandi on the city outskirts, sources said.
A woman police official interrogated the ex-ASI’s wife Jayanthi Das at their ancestral house in Jaleshwarkhandi. She was assisted by lady DSP Sathini Oram of Berhampur police.
Earlier, a Crime Branch team had camped in Berhampur for five days and interrogated Gopal’s wife, brother Satyanarayan Das and others, besides examining their bank accounts
It may be noted here that after the crime on January 29, Jayanthi had told media that her husband was suffering from bipolar disorder and was undergoing treatment for the ailment.
While the Crime Branch did not reveal the details of the outcome of the interrogation, it was allowed by the JMFC court in Jharsuguda to take Gopal on remand for five more days after the second four-day remand ended on Wednesday.
