Jharsuguda: A team of Odisha Crime Branch visited the house of slain BJD leader Naba Kishore Das at Jharsuguda and recorded the statements of the family members in connection with his murder case.
As per information a two-member team, comprising new investigating officer ASP Vijay Mallick and DSP Diptimayee Mallick, visited their residence at Sarbahal in Jharsuguda and recorded the statements.
Sources said the Crime Branch officials recorded the statements of Naba Das’ daughter Deepali Das and son Bishal Das during their visit.
It may be noted that the investigating agency had earlier summoned both of them in connection with the investigation into the daylight murder of Naba Das. However, both had failed to appear before the Crime Branch officials for the purpose.
The visit of the CB team came days after the slain leader’s wife Minati Das reportedly wrote a letter seeking an appointment with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to discuss matters relating to investigation into the killing. The letter was reportedly sent via e-mail and also through post.
It may be recalled that Naba Das, then Health Minister, was shot at by a policeman on January 29, 2023 at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district. He was later declared dead at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
