Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in Naba Das murder case, wife of the slain BJD leader has reportedly written to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, seeking an appointment to discuss a CBI probe into the killing.
As per sources, Minati Das has sent an email to the Chief Minister on March 11 seeking a meeting with him. This apart, a letter has also been dispatched by post for an appointment.
This was confirmed by her son Bishal Das, who highlighted his mother’s desire to directly address the issue with the Chief Minister. He said a letter has been sent to the Chief Minister both via email as well as post.
The request has come days after Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan stated that the family of Naba Das should submit a written request if they want an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the daylight murder of the leader.
It may be recalled that Naba Das was allegedly shot at by Gopal Das, a former ASI of police, at Brajrajnagar in Jharsuguda district on January 29, 2023, when he was Health and Family Welfare Minister. Naba Das was later declared dead at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The accused policeman was arrested, while the state government had directed the Crime Branch to probe the sensational murder.
