Kolkata: Top Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee were picked up by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding the Narada scam.
Hakim and Mukherjee have been brought to the CBI office in the city, reported news agency ANI. Besides, the central agency also picked up Kamarhati MLA Madan Mitra and former mayor Sovan Chatterjee.
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had earlier approved CBI investigations against Hakim and the three others.
All the four served as the ministers in Mamata Banerjee’s previous TMC government when the Narada bribery tapes surfaced back in 2016.
