Bhubaneswar: Narasingha Mishra was unanimously elected as the Congress Legislature Party leader at a meeting here on Monday night.
Talking to mediapersons, Narasingha said his party will raise issues related to farmers, unemployment and law and order in the state. Referring to the BJP leader Ashwini Vaishnav’s candidature for the Rajya Sabha seat from Odisha, which the BJD has supported, he said the Congress will unravel the nexus between the BJD and the BJP.
Narasingha was the leader of the opposition (LoP) in the 15th Assembly. However, as the number of Congress MLAs came down to 9 in the recent Assembly polls, the BJP has been accorded LoP status.
