Bhubaneswar: Around 300 delegates from across India attended the three-day 22nd National Conference on Paediatric Rheumatology (NCPR 2024) which concluded at Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital here on October 27.
With the objective of the conference being raising awareness about paediatric rheumatology, experts highlighted rheumatological and immunological issues in children.
Among the attendees were Dr Dirk Foell and Dr N Dhanya Lakshmi, two specialists on the subject from Germany. They shared their experience on auto-inflammatory diseases and genetics.
Endocrinologists Dr Swayam Siddha and Dr Manoranjan Tripathi spoke on Paediatric Osteoporosis.
Around 150 students presented their research papers in paediatric rheumatology and immunology during the conference. A quiz programme was organised for postgraduate and super speciality students.
Among those who attended the inaugural programme were Dean of IMS & SUM Hospital Prof. (Dr) Sanghamitra Mishra, Medical Superintendent Prof. (Dr.) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Head of Department of Paediatrics Prof. (Dr) Mamata Devi Mohanty and Course Director Prof. (Dr) Mrutyunjaya Dash.
