National Forensic Sciences University To Open Campus In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) will open a campus in Odisha to train the students and police officers on security against rising cyber crime in the state.
This was revealed in a meeting of a team of the university’s representatives with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
The chief minister said considering the rising cyber crime rate in the state in recent times, there is a need for such an institution. The state government would extend all possible help in this regard, he added.
“The national university’s campus will help create skilled manpower and experts to investigate and check the cyber crime in the state. The campus, which will be developed as a centre of excellence, will not only train the police officers on cyber security but also meet the needs of the state forensic officers,” he added.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling, director of NFSU, New Delhi Purabi Phokhrial, Tripura director HK Pratihari and other experts on cyber security participated in the discussion.
Odisha’s chief secretary Manoj Ahuja, additional chief secretary, Home department Satyabrat Sahu, DGP YB Khurania and ADG Arun Bothra were also present at the meeting.
