New Delhi: Around 3 lakh healthcare workers will get vaccinated on the first day (January 16) at 3,006 sites across the country.
This is one of the world’s biggest vaccination processes.
“This vaccination programme is based on the principles of priority groups to be vaccinated, and healthcare workers both in the government and private sectors will receive the vaccine during this phase,” a government statement said.
The digital platform Co-WIN will be used to update vaccine stocks, temperature and details of vaccine recipients.
A 24×7 hotline, 1075, has been set up for the process.
The number of sites will be ramped up to 5,000 and more in the coming weeks.
