New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik is among the top three performing chief ministers’ in the country, a latest survey has said.
According to the findings of the CVOTER- State of the Nation Tracker opinion poll, Naveen is ranked third in the list of the top performing chief ministers. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao takes the pole position, followed by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
Naveen is followed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
On the other hand, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami was ranked as the least performing chief minister in the country. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also figured among the bottom three with an approval rating of only 22 out of a sample size of 52,712.
The findings may not bode well for the BJP, as it has stitched an alliance with the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu for the forthcoming elections. The UP Chief Minister is one of its star campaigners for the ensuing elections.
Only two BJP-ruled states figure in the top 10 where people are most satisfied with the Chief Minister. Other than Himachal Pradesh, Assam is at Number 10, as Sarbananda Sonowal is placed a notch below West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee.
Bihar’s Nitish Kumar, a BJP ally, is placed at Number 6, followed by the Chief Minister of the JD-S-Congress government in Karnataka.
