Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday dedicated 416 transformed high schools in 5 districts of Odisha.
On the sixth and final day of the second phase of school transformation programme of the state government, the chief minister inaugurated 95 high schools in Koraput district, 31 in Gajapati, 40 in Sambalpur, 100 in Balangir and 150 in Jajpur district.
Total 3,981 high schools have been transformed in the state in two phases under the 5T initiative of the government. While 1,075 schools were developed in the first phase, 2,906 schools underwent transformation in infrastructure and other facilities in the second phase.
Speaking on the occasion of dedicating the schools on the day, the chief minister said, “Student career in school is the best time in one’s life. The foundation of a new Odisha will be laid and the goals of a new Odisha can be achieved through the realisation of the dreams of the children,” he said.
“Every child is special and is endowed with talent. The school transformation programme under 5T initiative is a government attempt to enable them to explore their talent and achieve their goals with confidence,” Naveen added.
He called upon the students to excel not only in academics but also extra-curricular activities like sports, arts, leadership and social service. Explaining the importance of the 5T initiative, he thanked the school management committees, panchayat representatives and the teachers for the success of school transformation programme.
