Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated 13 academic buildings and 28 hostel buildings of Odisha Adarsa Vidyalaya Sanghatan and also laid foundation for 276 hostel buildings of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs).
Speaking at a function organised at Lokseva Bhavan Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar on the occasion, Naveen said the new infrastructure will pave the way for development of quality education eco-system for students.
Stating that Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya was established with the idea to reach out and provide quality education in English medium to deserving children, preferably from rural areas, he said since its inception, the OAVs have been made operational in all 314 blocks of the state and one iconic OAV at Bhubaneswar.
Emphasising on quality education, he said, “It has been my government’s priority all along. Our Vidyalayas are experiencing transformational changes under 5T initiative. OAVs are dedicated to provide quality education in CBSE pattern and have brought a number of innovative measures to improve the system of education.”
The chief minister also congratulated the new entrants who were selected through OAV Entrance Test. He also
felicitated the meritorious students who passed CBSE’s Class X and XII examinations and those who qualified for NEET, JEE Advanced and other national level competitions.
Among others, Minister of School and Mass Education Sudam Mandry, chief secretary Pradeep Jena, advisor OAVs Upendra Tripathy also spoke on the occasion.
