Naveen Inaugurates Super Speciality Hospital & Cancer Centre At KIMS In Bhubanewar
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated the KIMS Super Speciality Hospital and the KIMS Cancer Centre in Bhubaneswar to provide health services to the people of Odisha and neighbouring states.
The chief minister went around the KIMS campus on a battery-operated vehicle and appreciated the state-of-art infrastructure and high-end facilities. He appraised the patient-friendly initiatives that have been developed in KIMS. Naba Kishore Das, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS accompanied him.
With this, KIMS has expanded its infrastructure with 1600 beds in the air-conditioned hospital to cater to general public and economically weaker section of the society. The modern complexes will offer advanced healthcare services to patients coming from Odisha and neighbouring West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
The 300-bed Super Speciality Hospital will have 12 Super Speciality departments. To be headed by reputed radiation oncologist Prof Bidhu Kalyan Mohanti, the hospital will have five distinct super speciality departments including Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology and Palliative Care.
Among others Saswati Bal, president, KIIT & KISS; RN Dash, secretary, KIIT & KISS; Prof Subrat Acharya, Pro-Chancellor, KIIT DU; Prof Sasmita Samanta, VC, KIIT DU; Prof Dr CBK Mohanty, Pro-Vice Chancellor and professors of different departments were present.
