Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday laid foundation stone for a teachers’ training centre in Odisha capital.
The chief minister laid the foundation stone while attending the foundation day of Odisha Adarsh Vidyalay Sangathan at Samant Vihar in Bhubaneswar. To be constructed with a cost of Rs 25 crore, the training centre will have facilities for stay of 100 teachers, 10 workshops and an auditorium with a sitting capacity for 300 participants.
Naveen also inaugurated ‘BAJRA’ scheme on the occasion. Under the scheme, the teachers would contribute one day of their salary to the welfare fund so that they can be financially helped at the time of their needs in future.
He presented awards to 5 best model schools and 5 students for their excellence in different fields on the occasion.
School and Mass Education Minister Samir Das, advisor (education) to chief minister Upendra Tripathy, secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian, secretary Aswathi S and OAV project director Sangram Mohapatra were present on the occasion.
