Bhubaneswar: With the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) winning the Assembly elections for the record fifth term, party president Naveen Patnaik along with his ministry is most likely to take the oath of office on May 27.
The Parliamentary Affairs department has begun the preparation for the oath-taking ceremony.
Sources said that 21 ministers along with the Chief Minister will take the oath.
Taking note of the plight of the people of the coastal districts, which were ravaged by the Cyclone Fani, the Chief Minister has directed officials to keep the oath-taking ceremony simple.
However, the venue for the ceremony is yet to be decided. It is usually held at the Raj Bhawan.
Talking to the mediapersons after the landslide victory of the BJD on Thursday, the Chief Minister had said “Firstly, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the people of my state for having blessed us again and again. I would also like to express my thanks to the leaders and the workers of my party who have worked so hard for this election. I would also like to express my gratitude to the women of the state who voted for us in large numbers.”
