Bhubaneswar: With campaigning for the 4th and last phase of elections set to end on Thursday, Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik held a mega roadshow at Nimapara on Wednesday evening.
A large number of people lined up on both sides of the road as the Chief Minister moved in a specially designed vehicle and waved at the cheering crowd.
In a bid to garner support for BJD candidates, Naveen started the grand show at Gulgula chhak and the roadshow was held on a two km route. Naveen, the top star campaigner of the ruling BJD, conducted the show for over an hour amid tight security.
The roadshow was held ahead of the final phase of the Assembly and Lok Sabha election in Odisha on June 1.
The BJD supremo also addressed the crowd from the specially designed bus and reiterated the promise to provide free electricity from July and extend the BSKY scheme for people in all categories.
“No electricity bill will come from July. All will be covered under BSKY. Mission Shakti members will get pension,” Patnaik said from the bus while urging the voters to vote for BJD’s MP and MLA candidates in large numbers.
Nimapara town witnessed a sea of people waving to the CM, holding BJD’s poll symbol conch, waving party flags and raising slogans in favour of the regional party.
