Bhubaneswar: After ‘Make In Odisha’ curtain raiser interactions in Delhi, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to meet investors in Mumbai on September 14.
According to official sources, the CM will leave for Mumbai on September 13. The meet is being organised by the Odisha government in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The government aims at bringing investments in the financial sector during the Mumbai meet with a focus on metals, textiles, electronics system design and manufacturing, chemicals, plastics and petrochemicals and tourism. Invitations have been extended to several industry bigwigs to attend the meet though their confirmation is yet to be received.
In 2018, a similar interactive session on investment opportunities in Odisha was held in Mumbai. Naveen had then led an investment roadshow, which was attended by industry heavyweights like Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Adi Godrej, Kishore Biyani and Deepak Mehta.
After Mumbai, similar investors’ meet will be organised in two more cities, likely to be Bengaluru and Hyderabad, the dates of which are yet to be decided. The government is using outreach programmes to showcase its investor-friendly policies and resources.
On August 31, the state government organised a investors’ meet in New Delhi, where the CM discussed business opportunities with ambassadors and envoys of 16 countries ahead of the ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave. Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Industries Department Principal Secretary Hemant Sharma and other senior officials were also present.
This was the third investment roadshow after Dubai and Ahmedabad ahead of the mega-industry carnival from November 30 to December 4 in the state.
