Bhubaneswar: The health condition of former Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, who was admitted to a private hospital here on Sunday, is improving.
Giving an update on his health, BJD said that Naveen will be discharged from the hospital soon.
“The president of the Biju Janata Dal and Leader of the Opposition, Shri Naveen Patnaik (@Naveen_Odisha), is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Bhubaneswar due to dehydration. His health condition is improving, and with the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the love of the people of Odisha, he will soon be discharged from the hospital,” BJD posted on X.
Wishes for Naveen poured in from several leaders.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were among those who wished the Leader of Opposition a speedy recovery.
“I came to know about the illness of the opposition leader, Honourable @Naveen_Odisha. I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for his speedy recovery and good health,” CM Majhi wrote on his official X handle.
Pradhan posted: “I came to know that the former Chief Minister of Odisha, opposition leader @Naveen_Odisha is unwell. I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for his good health and speedy recovery.”
Deputy CM Parida shared a similar message.
“Got to know about the illness of the opposition leader Shri @Naveen_Odisha. I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for his good health and speedy recovery,” tweeted Parida.
State Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling visited the hospital earlier in the evening, accompanied by BJP MLA Babu Singh.
“Naveen Patnaik’s health condition is stable now. We discussed with doctors attending to him. He is undergoing treatment for dehydration. On Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s advice, we came to meet him. As he is in ICU, we couldn’t talk to him. We have asked doctors to provide the best of the treatment and, if required, consult with government doctors,” Mahaling said. “We pray for the speedy recovery of Naveen Patnaik.”
