Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed concern over the law and order situation in Odisha after former MLA Pranab Balabantray’s vehicle was attacked at Aruha, in Jajpur district, on Sunday.

Leader of Opposition (LoP) and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen took to his X handle raise serious questions about the safety of people in the state.
“The open and coordinated attack on former MLA from Dharamshala and youth leader of Biju Janata Dal, Shri Pranab Balawantray, shows the disastrous law and order situation in the state. When public representatives and political leaders are not safe, it naturally raises questions about the safety of ordinary citizens,” Naveen posted.
He alleged that the BJP-helmed state government’s failure to curb anti-social activities is encouraging such incidents.
Naveen urged the government to take immediate and strict action to prevent political violence.
Babantray was on way to a local festival when unidentified miscreants attacked his car. He later said the attack was a pre-planned plot to kill him.
