Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be conferred with the Capital Foundation Life Time Achievement Award in recognition of his distinctive and outstanding leadership qualities.
Former Chief Justice of India NV Ramana will confer the prestigious award on the chief minister in presence of Justice AK Patnaik in New Delhi on September 4. The award giving ceremony will be organised by the Capital Foundation Society during the Annual Lecture and Awards function to be held at India International Centre Auditorium in national capital.
The Capital Foundation Society nominated Naveen for the ward after taking note that under his leadership, Odisha’s transformative journey began and the state witnessed rapid strides in every sector over two decades. His simplicity, kind-heartedness and impeccable integrity has own the hearts of the people of Odisha, it mentioned in its document for the award.
Established in 1987, the Capital Foundation Society is one of the most prestigious voluntary organisations in the country which has been engaged in providing a platform for policy dialogue and debate on issues of national and international importance.
The Board of Governors of the Society include Judges of the Supreme Court, Cabinet Ministers, senior civil servants, political leaders, academics, defence and police chiefs, jurists and social workers.
The earlier Capital Foundation Awardees are former Prime Minister IK Gujaral, senior advocate Ram Jethmalani, former Union Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, senior jurist Fali S Nariman, former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and former Chief Justice of India NV Ramana.
