Mumbai: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui had left tongues wagging when his wife Aaliya Siddique filed for divorce, alleging physical and mental torture.
Now, the actor’s niece has made a shocking revelation and accused his brother, who is her uncle, of sexually abusing her when she was nine-year-old.
During a conversation with ETimes, the victim disclosed, “I have filed a complaint about sexual harassment by my uncle when I was nine years old. My parents were divorced when I was two years old, so I had a stepmother. I was tortured a lot. As a child, I didn’t understand thinking it was my uncle, but when I grew up I realised it was a different kind of touch. There was violence too.”
As per reports, the victim has lodged an FIR with the Jamia police station in Delhi.
The girl further revealed that when she had informed Nawazuddin about it, he didn’t help her out. Instead, he told her that his brother was her uncle and he can’t harm her in anyway.
“Nawaz bade papa once asked me what I want to do in life, I told him all that was happening with me and that I felt mentally disturbed. But he said there is nothing like that. I thought that at least bade papa (Nawazuddin) would understand, he lives in a different society and would have a different mentality. But he was like ‘chacha hai, aisa kabhi nahi kar sakte’,” said the girl about Nawaz’s reaction.
Earlier, Nawazuddin’s wife Aaliya had alleged that her husband and his family members didn’t know how to respect woman.
