Nayagarh: The body of a three-year-old girl of Nayagarh district, who went missing since Friday, was recovered from a pond in Badhipatana village under Ranpur block in Odisha’s of Nayagarh district on Tuesday.
The body was found in a pond in Adibasi Sahi area of the village. As the pond is located at a distance from the girl’s house, foul play is being suspected.
The girl went missing while she was playing near her house. An intensive search was launched to trace her.
Already burdened under the Pari murder case police had launched a massive search operation for Pari.
Two police teams from Rajsunakhala police outpost and Ranpur police had visited the girl’s village soon after her parents lodged a missing complaint. A fire personnel team was also on the job and was carrying out search operations in ponds and wells.
Investigation into the matter is on.
