New Delhi: State-owned Navratna public sector undertaking NBCC (India) Ltd has secured new work orders worth Rs 134.05 crore from Odisha, a regulatory filing disclosed on Monday.

The contracts, awarded in the normal course of business, focus on infrastructure development in Odisha’s education sector. One order valued at Rs 45.87 crore involves construction, repair, and renovation works at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University in Ba

ripada, Mayurbhanj under the centrally sponsored Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan scheme, aimed at enhancing higher education infrastructure.

The second order worth Rs 88.18 crore has been awarded by the Odisha School Programme Authority in Bhubaneswar. This pertains to civil works implementation under the Godabarisha Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalaya Scheme — a flagship initiative by the Odisha government to establish modern, model primary schools in every panchayat.

The Odisha government has decided to develop 835 model primary schools in the first phase, with each costing up to Rs 7 crore.

Both projects will be executed through NBCC’s project management consultancy (PMC) services, a core strength of the company which operates primarily in PMC, engineering procurement & construction (EPC), and real estate segments.
