Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) detained popular comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa for interrogation after cannabis was recovered from their residence during a raid on Saturday morning.
According to a report in DNA, on reaching the NCB office, Bharti told the reporters, “They have called us for some questioning, that’s all.”
Investigating officer Sameer Wankhede told ANI, “She (Bharti) and her husband have been detained for questioning about possession of narcotics substances.”
Bharti’s name surfaced in the drug case after a drug peddler named her. Following a raid at her Mumbai residence, a small quantity of cannabis was found in her possession.
Earlier, Arjun Rampal and his girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades were summoned by the NCB for questioning in the drug case.
“I am fully cooperating with the investigation. I have nothing to do with drugs. The medicine found at my residence was prescribed. The prescription has been found and handed over,” Rampal had said.
The investigating agency is carrying out raids to nab the drug peddlers following Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death on June 14, this year.
