NDRF Team From Odisha Leaves For Flood Rescue Ops In Kerala
Bhubaneswar: With incessant heavy rain triggering imminent flood in Kerala, six teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel posted at Mundali, on the outskirts of Cuttack, will soon be pressed into service for relief and rescue work in the southern state.
According to official sources, six NDRF teams, comprising 150 personnel, with 18 power boats will leave for Thiruvananthapuram in a special flight of the Indian Air Force on Tuesday afternoon.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts in Kerala for Tuesday. Besides, it has also sounded an orange alert in nine districts in the subsequent 24 hours.
