Mumbai: Celebrated poet, writer, journalist and filmmaker Pritish Nandy passed away on Wednesday at the age of 73, following a cardiac arrest at his south Mumbai home.
Even as condolences poured in hailing the multi-talented Nandy, veteran actress Neena Gupta sparked a controversy by slamming the late filmmaker for stealing his daughter’s birth certificate and exposing her identity.
Neena had abused Nandy, calling him a ‘bastard’. He commented on Anupam Kher’s heartwarming post on Pritish, and wrote that he should not rest in peace.
“Do you know, what he did to me, and I called him a bastard openly. He stole my baby’s birth certificate and published it. So no RIP, you understand, and I have a proof of it.”
In the past, Neena Gupta had asked Twitteratis to avoid wish Pritish Nandy on his birthday as he did horrible things to her.
“You don’t know raj what horrible thing pritish nandi did to me and i have a proof so do not wish him happy anything if you r my friend,” she wrote.
Neena’s daughter Masaba Gupta was born out of wedlock. Masaba is the love child of cricketer Viv Richards and Neena Gupta.
