New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday conducted a retest of the NEET-UG examination for 1,563 candidates at six centres in four states and a Union Territory. As per the testing panel, 813 of 1,563 candidates appeared for retest today, while 750 candidates skipped the exam, according to the testing panel.
Two students were scheduled to take their NEET-UG retest in Chandigarh, but neither of them turned up at the exam centre.
In Chhattisgarh, the exam was scheduled to be held at two centres, with 602 candidates eligible for retest. 291 aspirants turned up for the exam.
The arrangements were made at two exam centres in Haryana for 494 candidates. Of this, 287 students appeared for the exam. While in Meghalaya, 234 out of 464 eligible candidates took the test today.
In Gujarat, a retest was held for one candidate.
The exam was conducted after the NTA withdrew grace marks awarded to students who were compensated for loss of time due to delay in the start of the examination at six centres in Meghalaya, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Chandigarh. The NTA had withdrawn the compensatory marks awarded to these candidates following the Supreme Court order.
The committee established by the NTA had decided to cancel the scorecards of these 1,563 candidates and offered them the option of a retest as a remedy. The re-examination was scheduled for June 23.
The result for the same will be announced before June 30.
