Bhubaneswar: Netflix has added a new feature that opens up the platform for podcasts. The new feature uses an ‘Audio-Only’ playback mode which lets users listen to the audio without seeing the video.
The video player inside Netflix now has a ‘Video-Off’ button and this lets users switch to audio-only mode.
The new ‘Audio-Only’ option inside Settings will allow users to choose from options like ‘Always On,’ ‘Headphones or External Speakers,’ and ‘Off.’
This feature is similar to what is available on YouTube Premium.
A Netflix spokesperson, in a statement, said, “We’re always looking for new ways to improve the Netflix mobile experience for our members. We run tests in different countries and for different periods of time – and only make them broadly available if people find them useful.”
The new feature is being rolled out and it is yet to be made clear when it will be available to all.
