Netizens Ask ‘Saiyaarans & Animals’ To Watch Siddhant Chaturvedi And Triptii Dimri’s ‘Dhadak 2’ On OTT

Mumbai: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s love story ‘Dhadak 2’, which released in theatres on August 1, is now streaming on Netflix.

Even as the film, a sequel to the 2018 film ‘Dhadak’ and a remake of Tamil film ‘Pariyerum Perumal’, failed to leave cash registers ringing at the box office, lead actors Triptii and Siddhant’s performance impressed the audience and critics.

Now that the film is streaming on OTT, netizens believe that it is far better than Ahaan Panday’s ‘Saiyaara’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’.

A social media user, who watched the film on Netflix, wrote: “Dhadak 2 is a thought-provoking depiction of the reality of our society, a rarity in an era of larger than life cinema that disregards the bitter truths under the canopy of grandiose. All the Saiyaarans and Animals should give it a watch.”

Another netizen posted, “If you can take Pariyerum and rewrite it to #Dhadak2 I would say Bollywood stands tall. A royal salute to the whole team of Dhadak. Wow. Just wow. It’s a rarest of rare that a bollywood remake is better than the original in terms of writing @DharmaMovies Be Proud, Iqbal & Johar!”

However, a section of netizens found the film disappointing.

A viewer claimed, “#Dhadak2onNetflix :⭐⭐ Yes, caste discrimination still exists in India. But not on this level & in this open. This is on a propaganda level. PARIYERUM PERUMAL may kinda make sense cuz it takes place in a small Tamil Village. #Dhadak2 set in a city like Bhopal doesn’t make sense. Dhadak 2 starts with Dhadak 1 ending. That’s how extreme it is. The sequel is no match for Dhakad. Neither has a good story nor a good album #TriptiDimri #Netflix.”

Another review on X read, “One word review for #Dhadak2. Disappointing. Movie is slow , preachy and doesn’t achieve what it aims to do . Yet all actors are good and try to breathe life into average story telling. Watch it once for the brilliant Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri.”
